The Ph.D. Martha S. Calderón Rios and Ph.D. Danilo E. Bustamante Mostajo, research professors from #UNTRM, presented their research work in oral and poster format at the Animal and Plant Genome Conference – #PAG (for the acronym in English of Plant and Animal Genome Conference), held held from January 12 to 17, 2024 in the city of San Diego, California, United States.

The research works presented “High-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene of the microbiota associated with the coffee ferment after inoculation of starter cultures to improve the quality of the cup of coffee” (oral and poster mode) and “Prediction of the functional profile of the microbiota associated with Peruvian macroalgae with plant growth potential based on metagenomic data of the 16S rRNA gene” (poster modality) were funded by Prociencia- CONCYTEC through the projects FITOALGA (PROCIENCIA N° PE501079919-2022) and METACAFÉ 2.0 (PROCIENCE N° PE501081184-2022).

The Plant and Animal Genome Conference is the world's largest genomics meeting, designed to provide a forum on recent developments and future plans for plant and animal genome projects. The conference, composed of technical presentations, poster sessions, biotech company exhibitions and workshops, is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, expand contact networks for future collaborations and applications on projects of international importance.
