UNTRM signs agreement with University of Wisconsin in USA
In order to promote scientific, academic and research cooperation, the Universidad Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza de Amazonas (UNTRM) has signed an academic agreement with the University of Wisconsin (WU) in Madison, one of the 13 most important public universities in the U.S.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison, founded in 1848, is the largest state university with more than 41,000 students enrolled in undergraduate and 21,000 postgraduate degrees, currently having 20 faculties.
Wisconsin-Madison is one of the largest university centers in the United States and has a budget of $ 1 billion for research among all its faculties.
Through the College of Agricultural and Life Science, the University of Wisconsin is considered the first university in the world in Dairy Science and the sixth in Life Sciences.
The agreement establishes several lines of cooperation, among them it seeks to promote the exchange of students, researchers and academics, as well as organize congresses and seminars between both universities.
The agreement also intends to carry out joint certification programs, training of academic and administrative personnel, joint publications and work on research and innovation projects; as well as collaboration in the training of students or teachers through joint academic programs and co-supervision of doctoral theses.
In the topic of knowledge transfer and co-creation, the exchange of publications and other academic materials, the exchange of academic personnel for teaching, among others, is planned.
Said agreement carries the rubrics of the Rector of the UNTRM, Jorge Luis Maicelo Quintana Ph.D. and the Vice Chancellor and Provost of the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Guido Podesta; which concluded with its respective signature this October 2, 2017.
The Rector of the UNTRM, Jorge Luis Maicelo Quintana Ph.D, said that this agreement has been made with an institution that has begun a relationship a little over a year and that this agreement is a significant contribution to position UNTRM as an educational, research and academic destination nationally and internationally, as there is a network of international universities very important to achieve this goal.
