With the goal of continuing to position itself in academic and scientific quality, UNTRM has established links with high-level international universities. The Rector of the National University Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza de Amazonas, conducted linkage, strengthening and management actions with the prestigious Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Lund University, both located in Sweden, and with the University of Copenhagen from Denmark.

During this institutional visit, coordination meetings were held with the main authorities of those universities mentioned above, especially addressing joint actions to promote undergraduate and graduate programs in areas related to agricultural sciences, animal science, forestry sciences, environment, biotechnology and biomedicine; through the integration of students, faculty staff and researchers between the programs of those European universities and UNTRM.

In the context of this alliance, our university, UNTRM, will have the possibility of student exchange to complement the academic training for undergraduate as well as graduate students and researchers, who will develop joint research, scientific stays, and advanced degree training; in addition to the joint presentation of national and international scientific projects. Thus, technical meetings were established together with (i) Dr. Ylva Hillbur, Pro Vice-Rector for International Relations; (ii) Dr. Rodomiro Ortiz, head of the SLU Plant Breeding Division and (iii) Dr. Eva Nordberg, head of the biotechnology division, and also with Dr. Nelida Leiva-Eriksson from Lund University.

Currently, SLU is the third best university in the world in Agricultural Sciences and Forestry. On the other hand, Lund University is home to the recent winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, Prof. Dr. Anne L'Huillier, who is a scientific professor of physics. Moreover, the University of Copenhagen is the second largest and oldest university in Scandinavia, ranking within the five best universities in Europe, and among the top 10% best universities in the world.

Our university possesses Ph.D. programs in Sciences for Sustainable Development with scholarships from Prociencia, and Plant Genetics and Plant Breeding, which are currently interacting with top-notch research centers and universities. UNTRM is expanding its collaborative tasks with these universities from Scandinavian countries.
