The National University Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza of Amazonas proudly reports that Dr(C). Gleni Tatiana Segura Portocarrero, outstanding teacher and researcher, has obtained a scholarship in the "Internships in Science, Technology and Technological Innovation" competition. This distinction, awarded by CONCYTEC and the National Program for Scientific Research and Advanced Studies - PROCIENCIA, represents recognition of its commitment to scientific advancement.

Young researcher from UNTRM, Marianella Villegas Pingo, has been selected for a scholarship in the "Internships in science, technology and technological innovation" competition, awarded by CONCYTEC and the National Program for Scientific Research and Advanced Studies – PROCIENCIA. The international internship will take place in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases of the T.H. School of Public Health. Chan from Harvard University, where he will perform bioinformatic analyzes of the complete genome of the malaria parasite Plasmodium and its vector Anopheles benarrochi.

The UNTRM research professor, Dr. Jaris E. Veneros Guevara, won a Postdoctoral Scholarship at the University of Minnesota (UMN) in the United States, to cooperate in the development of two investigations related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote sensing at the Environment Institute and the Department of Forest Resources. The UMN has 10 Nobel Prize winners, making it one of the most prestigious universities in the world. For example, a Nobel Peace Prize winner was Agronomist Norman Ernest Borlaug, known as the father of the Green Revolution.

Peru is one of the countries that hosts a great diversity of plants worldwide; the National University Toribio Rodriguez de Mendoza of Amazonas (UNTRM) has a leading vision in the training of the plant scientists new generation along with cutting-edge research; therefore, UNTRM decided to create the first Doctoral and Master Program in Genetics and Plant Breeding in Peru.

To promote academic, scientific, technical, and research training activities, the President of the Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodriguez de Mendoza de Amazonas, Dr. Jorge Luis Maicelo Quintana, and Dr. Margarida de Aquino Cunha, President of the Universidade Federal Do ACRE - UFAC of Brazil, signed a five-year academic interinstitutional cooperation agreement.

To establish agreements and strengthen international academic and scientific cooperation to promote undergraduate, Master and Doctoral programs, the President of the Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodriguez de Mendoza de Amazonas - UNTRM, Dr Jorge Luis Maicelo Quintana, and the Dean of the Facultad de Ingeniería Zootecnista, Agronegocios y Biotecnología, Dr Hector Vladimir Vasquez Perez, are currently in North Carolina State University - NCSU USA.
